LONDON - FORMER British and European heavyweight champion Sir Henry Cooper, who famously knocked down Muhammad Ali in a controversial world title fight, died on Sunday aged 76, the Press Association reported.

The London-born Cooper sprang to prominence in 1963 when he took on Ali - then known as Cassius Clay - at Wembley, with the British fighter famously flooring the great American in the fourth round.
