Hawks oust Magic to book date with Bulls

ATLANTA - JOE Johnson scored 23 points and Jamal Crawford added 19 to power Atlanta past Orlando 84-81 in an NBA playoff game on Thursday, advancing the Hawks to a second-round series with Chicago.

The Hawks eliminated the Magic four games to two in their Eastern Conference best-of-seven first round series, advancing to round two for the third year in a row while the Magic suffered its earliest playoff exit since 2007.

  1. The Hawks have no chance against Chicago. Who really expected Orlando to win Game 6 on the road? The Hawks won a series of two "not ready for prime time teams", I think the Bulls will feast on them.

    That being said, the Hawks did avenge their playoff sweep at the hands of the Magic last year. They became the 9th team in the last 30 years win a series against the team who swept them in the playoffs the previous season.
