Golf helps raise $160,000 for Japanese relief efforts

MORE than 280 golfers filled both The Serapong Course and The Tanjong Course for the Great East Japan Earthquake/Tsunami Relief Fund Raising Charity Golf 2011 on Sunday (April 17).

At the dinner and award ceremony in the evening, Japanese University Graduates Association of Singapore (Jugas) President Richard Chua and Sentosa Golf Club (SGC) General Manager Peter Downie presented Japanese Association Singapore President Kenji Yasuno with a $160,000 cheque, to contribute to the relief aid and reconstruction efforts for the communities affected by the earthquake and tsunami in north-eastern Japan, SGC said in a press statement.
