BOSTON - JAPANESE athletes swept the Boston Marathon men's and women's wheelchair divisions on Monday, giving a boost to a nation still recovering from last month's devastating earthquake and tsunami.

Wakako Tsuchida set a new world record time of 1 hour, 34 minutes, 6 seconds as she captured her fifth consecutive title in the women's division.
