LONDON - TOTTENHAM winger Gareth Bale has been voted English football's player of the year by his fellow pros after establishing himself as one of Europe's top players this season.
The 21-year-old Welshman beat six other players to the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) award announced late Sunday, including teammate Rafael van der Vaart and Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.
